Community Club

Vice President – Milt Lamberton

Secretary – Diane Kreis

Treasurer – Kathleen Lamberton

The Groton Community Club sponsors the annual chicken pie suppers, fall foliage parade, the town Christmas tree, swimming lessons at Boulder Beach on Lake Groton, library programs at the Groton Public Library, and provides college scholarships to Groton’s graduating seniors.

The Community Club was originally a Parent/School club like a PTA.  When the national PTA became official and started requiring membership dues and specific rules the Groton group broke off to stay independent and flexible to their own school’s needs.  Today they still fund scholarships for Groton seniors going on to further education.

The Community Club meets the 1st Tuesday of May and the 4th Tuesday of Oct. at 7:30 in the upstairs room of the Library.

2005 - 50th Anniversary of the Chicken Pie Supper

Sweat shirts commemorating the event will be on sale Fall Foliage Day.  We would like this to be a special celebration and encourage participation in the parade and other activities Oct. 1st.  Further information will be posted around town and on this web site.

Membership is for all Groton Residents and participation is welcomed.  Please plan to attend our next meeting in October.   The date will be posted.
