The Nature Center

The Nature Center
(Groton State Forest Nature Interpretation & Visitors Program Center)

For the summer of 2013, there is not a naturalist on staff and the Nature Center is not open for regular hours.  There are some nature programs offered at Stillwater State Park and information on those can be found either on the bulletin board at Stillwater or in the events section of the State Parks website.

There are some free brochures and maps at the Nature Center and at the Ranger station of Stillwater State Park relating to the Lake and State Forest. These include Forest Trail maps, a self guided tour of the Nature Trail, and “Groton State Forest History Guide” which is essentially a short history of the lake.  The Groton Public Library has some of this literature as well.
