Leonard called the meeting to order at
7:00 PM.
Correspondence and Selectboard minutes
were reviewed. Debra made the motion to accept the November 22, 2005 minutes.
Richard seconded the motion. Leonard
agreed.
Victoria and Patricia presented the
budget for the Listers. Much discussion took place on the budget. Decisions on
the budget were tabled to a later date when all pay scales can be reviewed.
Berne and Debra presented the budget
for the Cemetery Commission. They are requesting the same amount except for the
culvert.
Roberta: cemetery is over budget by
$200.00.
Mary, Martha and Debra presented the
Auditors budget. Mary: Auditors didn’t use to charge but are putting in an
$8.00 an hour amount because the auditors will be doing the Town Report instead
of the office workers. Budget is $1,500.00 for town report and $1,000.00 for
the Auditors.
Richard: isn’t it mandatory the town
has a professional audit every so many years?
Roberta and Mary explained about the
grant money being received and how this will trigger a federal audit.
Mary discussed forming a budget
committee for next year.
Leonard liked the idea and feels it
should be made up of the auditors, Selectboard members and some of the town’s
people.
Richard would like to see a proposal
and who would be working on the committee.
Roberta: the Town of Ryegate has a
budget committee as well as other towns.
Richard: have any town report bids come
in yet? Linda: Not yet.
Jeremy: need to have an Article on the
warning for Dry Hydrant.
Roberta: was the dry hydrant excavation
work put out to bid as it was over $500.00?
Jeremy: No, the guy was there anyway
doing work so we just had him do the work.
Jim: Budget same as last year except
for adding a one-hour minimum time when called out.
The amount of hours spent working along
with radios and equipment needs were discussed.
Jim: Wade can give out tickets for
illegal burning and dumping.
Phillip and Lynn: discussion of the
dental insurance usage by them. This will be discussed later.
Debra: regarding community building
use, a $5.00 an hour charge to start with would be good with a sign up sheet to
be used.

Todd: Blue Mountain would like to use
the Groton Gym for basketball practice. Todd started doing some ground work
about paying a fee to help with the cleaning and heating.
Richard made the motion to continue
reviewing the budgets on December 13th at 6:30 PM. Debra seconded the motion.
Richard: Brent did you check with the
Treasurer (regarding the damage to the plow on truck #7) if this would be
covered under the town insurance? Brent explained there is someone that keeps
pulling out the guardrails by Depot Flat and Checchi Street the road crew puts
up. Brent said he was told that he won’t put them back up and wants to see
Brent. Brent what do you want to do?
Selectboard: will check into what is
legal to do. Richard would like to take a look.
Brent: needs to up date his anti-virus
for his computer.
Brent: Phillip needs new tires on the
truck he drives. Brent will let him pick out what he wants for tires.
Salaries, budgets and insurance will be
discussed later.
Richard made the motion to adjourn;
Leonard seconded the motion.
Meeting adjourned at 9:20 PM.
