Leonard called the meeting to order at 7:09 PM.

 

Correspondence and Selectboard minutes were reviewed. The February 2nd minutes were approved.

 

Debra requested that Linda pull a file for the property behind the Groton garage for the next Selectboard meeting.

 

The Community Building upgrade plans were discussed.  Many ideas were discussed concerning the congestion of the parking at the Community Building and Emergency Service Building and how to remedy the problem. This was tabled until a later time.

 

Leonard questioned Brent concerning the bridge report that needs to be signed and returned to the State. The report is to keep the town informed about bridges that are being watched for future work.

 

Leonard questioned if the Planning have started meeting to do their work on the town plan? Linda answered the questions concerning Wade Johnson and the Planning Board setting up their meetings. Linda: gave Wade a key for the kitchen so they could meet.

 

Linda questioned if the Selectboard wanted to post the bids for the mowing of the Cemeteries, town grounds and the roadsides. The answer was yes.

 

A letter of recommendation to appoint Wayne Knott as interim Fire Chief for Groton was read. Debra made the motion to appoint Wayne Knott as interim Fire Chief and Leonard seconded the motion.

 

Roberta gave an overview on the seminar she had attended.

 

Debra spoke on Green up day and on ideas of ways to say thanks to the people that help with the clean up. Also there might be some people from Vermont Housing and Conservation willing to help.

The Community Building will need to be reserved for the towns’ use that day.

 

The question was asked about tickets being given out for municipal violations such as the dumping of trash in the stump dump and along the railroad bed.  This will be checked into.

 

Notice of the adoption of the Traffic and Highway Ordinance, was it sent into the newspaper? This will be check on.

 

Brent addressed a request to purchase pivot.net for the garage as they are offering a special deal and Brent has been using his own Internet service at the garage.  Leonard said that this could be used at the fire station also but only with it being past-worded. Brent was told to check into getting it.

Paul Putnam will be helping with the computer in the fire station.

 

Brent filled the Selectboard in on the Highway Foreman meeting that have been meeting each month. Brent said these go alone with the Local Roads Program. Each month different subjects are discussed concerning the roads in Caledonia County.

Brent said that one town was in need of truck help and another town jumped in and gave them the help they needed.

 

Roberta reported she had gone on to muninet looking for information concerning bonds and what she had found out.

Roberta said that Green-up had sent a bill for the $50.00 and she wondered about paying it now or wait until after Town Meeting? Selectboard said to pay it now.

 

Roberta reported that she was leaving a signed check with Linda for the postage on sending out the town reports.

Roberta said she didn’t do a budget report for the first part of the year.

 

Leonard made the motion to sign the Haz-Mat Mitigation form. Debra seconded the motion.

 

Leonard: March 1st Karen from Sterling Design will be at the office at 3:30 PM, Town Meeting will be on March 7th and the next Selectboard meeting will be on March 9th.

 

 

Leonard made the motion to adjourn; Debra seconded the motion.
