Leonard Doscinski called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m..

 

Correspondence and Selectboard minutes were reviewed. Debra made the motion to accept the May 18th, 2006 minutes. Leonard seconded the motion.

 

Class 4 road improvements were discussed.

Brent explained the expenditure usage of the $4,000.00 a year for the class 4 roads.

Brent: town is able to receive FEMA money because of maintaining class 4 roads.

 

Debra explained about Fred Braman, Don and Cathy Crum discussing the need for improvements of town highway 28 (Hi Goodwin Rd). Fred and Don requested that a portion of the $4,000.00 be used to make repairs to the Hi Goodwin Road. The Selectboard met with Fred Braman and Don Crum on Monday May 22, 2006 at 3:30 p.m. to look over the road.

 

Leonard: the Town should prioritize the class 4 roads and then do work on these roads where people live year round. Then when they are brought up to certain specs start bringing up the others.

Dave will write a letter to Fred and Don.

Brent: we should do some work on the water bars to make sure they are working. Debra: right!

 

Leonard: replacement loader any prices yet. Brent: not yet, still looking.

Brent: $50,000.00 isn’t working as most in the 1970’s are in the $70,000.00 range.

Leonard: if you can find a good used loaders for $70,000.00 purchase it.

 

Paving bids for the Goodfellow road up to the dump road.

Biglow Paving, Blaktop Paving, Pike Paving, Gorman Bros. Paving

 

Crack filling bids for Minard Hill Road and Powder Spring Road.

Linda: Need a cemetery Deed signed by Leonard. A letter was received from the town attorney regarding the right of way to the Park Street Cemetery. Question if the Recreation committee and Library are having a yard sale on the July 4th weekend, if not Sharon Proctor might like to use the building.  Debra: have Sharon contact the Library.

 

Linda: had a complaint concerning parking on the sidewalk.  Parking problem was discussed. No action was taken at this time, a letter will be sent to Gilman Housing inviting them to a meeting concerning the parking.

 

Linda: request from the Health Officer asking if the Town will pay $40.00 for Reginal Guertin to attend a seminar. The $40.00 is approved.

 

Linda: Lister requested the approval to post for a third Lister to serve until Town Meeting. Approval was given to post.

 

Linda: A request to digitalize the vital and land records from the Utah Genealogy Association.

Roberta: need to borrow money.

Roberta: We haven’t received the refund of $ 2,050.00 from the education tax money paid to Blue Mountain Union School last year yet.

Roberta: gave an update on the budgets explaining the departments that were close.

Roberta: haven’t received a certificate of insurance and a certificate of workman’s comp from Sterling Design yet. What do you want to do? The Selectboard said hold the check until the town receives the insurance papers.

 

Dave: looking at the highway fine income that is coming in and looking at Jim Downing's budget figures might work out alright.

 

Debra: moved the Town event from the 25th of June to July 9th for the open house at Gilman Housing and maybe have an ice cream social.

Debra: August 1st for the Town Picnic at Boulder Beach.

Debra: some women are having a map made for the National Geographic Magazine and had requested nominations for sites to include on the ecotourism map.

 

Dave had spoke with Warren and the Community Building engineer study looks positive.

 

The Selectboard will meet on the 8th of June and cancel the Selectboard meeting on the 15th of June. Leonard will be gone June 11 through June 17th.

 

Debra: put the policy from Auditors on the agenda for next meeting.

 

Debra Tinkham excused herself from the Selectboard to ask if the Selectboard have a stand concerning Seyon Ranch. Selectboard has no stand.

 

Purchase order was discussed concerning uniforms for the FAST Squad. This will be brought up to the Fire Department.

 

Dave put a binder together one for policies and one for ordinances.

Roberta: Wayne Knott requested her to print up invoices for reimbursement for training classes not attended.

Roberta: questions concerning memorial fund donations to the Fast Squad for Richard Perkins?

 

Dave made the motion to adjourn; Leonard seconded the motion.

 

Orders were signed in the amount of $ 7,735.88
