Debra called the meeting to order at
7:05 p.m.
Correspondence and Selectboard minutes
were reviewed. Debra made the motion to accept the August 3, 2006 minutes.
David seconded the motion.
Debra asked about the survey for the
town plan. The Selectboard would like to see the survey before the mailing.
Have Linda call Wade Johnson to get a
copy brought to the office then e-mail Debra and Dave letting them know it’s
there.
Mr. Clifton Hersey spoke regarding the
old road off from Mt. Ara Road going to his property.
Mr. Hersey provided documentation and
some old maps to show there was a road there back in 1973 - 1982.
Mr. Hersey said that Paul Gilles had
also done some research on this road but couldn’t find the documentation to
show the status of the road or if it had ever been changed.
Mr. Hersey has a potential buyer for
his property if the road does exist.
Debra will check into this and get back
to Mr. Hersey in a couple of weeks.
Dave will call VLCT as the road goes
across Martin Guay and Leonard Doscinski’s property.
Dave: Mr. Hersey wants to know if the
road was throw up and what the status is as a town road is it a class 3 or
class 4 road.
Debra asked Brent what the status is on
the new loader?
Brent received call from Milton Cat
regarding an older loader it will be around $25,000.00 and would probably take
$10,000.00 of work and has a lot of hours from Middlebury.
Brent: working on class 4 roads, the
Harv Orr road.
Dave asked about the gravel from Matt’s
gravel pit. Brent: no results yet.
Rocks were granite inside and are ready
for crushing.
Dave: did Squeaky come for the metal?
Brent: went over the school bus routes,
only a couple of problem spots.
Dave: asked about rose bush blocking
view off Minard Hill and Route 302?
Laurine, has someone who would like to
be a lister, her name is Lisa Lord.
Debra made the motion to appoint Lisa
Lord for a 90-day probation period at $7.50 an hour, after the 90 days she will
be evaluated. Dave seconded the motion.
Dave asked about NEMRC on agenda?
Dave: engineering report expected on
August 30 or August 31. This will give the Community Building Committee time to
read it on Tuesday night at their meeting. Then the Community Building
committee will be invited to attend the next Selectboard meeting on September 7th
and the Selectboard meeting will start at 6:00 PM. Warren Tripp will contact
the engineers.
Dave the test well was put in this week
to monitor the oil leak from the Fire Department tank. The initial sample was
negative.

Dave: what about paving?
Brent Goodfellow Road repaving the
blacktop portions.
Dave: was checking parking situation
and sidewalk near Welch Block needs to be fixed.
Brent: maybe could tie it in with the
village sidewalk project?
Debra: have we heard back from Andy
Broderick?
Dave: no, I will write a letter after
September 7th meeting.
Dave: maybe some guardrails or cement
curbing in front 75’ to 90’. Curbing is better.
Dave: reference to the curbs down in
the village, will use for the sidewalks.
Brent until then we could pick them up
and store them.
Debra: revitalization project, we won,
reception in Burlington.
Dave: snow removal around Library,
Numbers on buildings and lock boxes.
Dave: cell towers, would like to follow
up on getting some
Debra made the motion to adjourn; Dave
seconded the motion.
