Leonard called the meeting to order at
7:00 PM.
Leonard explained that he had met a
neighbor that is an Administrator for the Town of Bradford. Leonard questioned
him if he would like to do some volunteer work?
Leonard explained the Fire Department
budget.
Leonard questioned Roberta about the
possibility of breaking the insurance coverage into departments? Would there be
any benefits in doing this?
Roberta couldn’t see any benefits.
Roberta explained about the workman’s comp insurance.
Jonathan: there seems to be a large
increase in postage and office.
Dave: has anything happened with the
old fire truck? Dave: Building Committee is looking into space and cost.
Leonard: no there has been talk about
selling it but haven’t done anything about it yet.
Debra the fire truck has been paid off
and at the end of the year there will be $20,000.00 in the emergency vehicle
reserve fund.
FAST
Squad:
Jonathan Austin-Shortt explained the fast squad budget.
There was much discussion as to repair or replace rescue 1.
Jonathan said that they have been checking around for
vehicles that might work as a rescue vehicle.
Forest Fire
Warden
Wade said he was waiting to the end of
the year because of the forest fire season.
Wade said that he needs to purchase
outfits for new trainees.
Warren
Tripp explained about the agreement papers with Black River Design. Black River
Design will send a format for the Building Committee to go by when putting out
the bid for an architect.
Debra
is it time to form the sub-committees? The answer is not until the architect is
chosen.
Roberta
do you have anything in writing from Gilman Housing the Town will be able to
put a septic across the road on their land? Not yet.
After
much discussion Leonard made the motion to go forward with the architect with restraint
on the spending. Dave seconded the motion. Debra is against putting any more
into the project until there are more public relations.
Warren
the meetings are the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 7:00 P.M. and
anyone is welcome to come.
Draft Letters
Leonard will redo the letters concerning
14 and 16 year old fire fighters responding to fires. The letters for the Fire
Department and the FAST Squad will be reviewed again at the next Selectboard
meeting.
Leonard: made the motion to go into executive
session at 9:14 pm personnel issues.
Motion was voted an approved.
The Selectboard exited executive
session at 9:25 pm.
Leonard announced no discussion was
made.

Dave spoke with Truline concerning the
gravel pit being surveyed.
Dave spoke with Adrian Otterman
concerning Martin Cherry and the hiring of an expert witness at $65.00 an hour.
Ancient Roads
Dave would like to set up a committee
to work on ancient roads issues.
Radar system
Dave: Ryegate hasn’t gotten back to him
concerning the purchase of the radar system from the Town of Ryegate.
Dave has reviewed Jim’s hours and
proposes they go with the minimum hours.
Orders were signed in the amount of
$17,104.00
Leonard made the motion to adjourn;
Debra seconded the motion.
Meeting adjourned at 9:50 PM.
