Leonard called the meeting to order at
7:00 PM.
Mail was reviewed. Purchase orders were
signed.
Stone Walls /
Right of Ways
Paul Sykas addressed the issue of emergency
vehicles having problems with the narrowing of West Shore Drive due to Peter
Lyons building stone walls on each side of the road. Brent felt the issue should be addressed by Selectboard or
Planning board. Dave will check with
VLCT. John Maloney stated that owners
should have right to fire protection.
Sand Pit Bids
Bids were opened for sand pit stripping. Sidney Smith’s bid -$5800 and Robert
Farquharson’s bid -$3960.
Dave made motion to accept Farquharson
bid for $3,960.00.
Leonard seconded the motion.
Discussion followed regarding division
of cost between the Town of Topsham and the Town of Groton. Topsham has used
more material in the past.
Leonard made a proposal that 65% for
Topsham.
Dave seconded the motion.
Boulder Beach
Road and State Highway 232.
John Maloney presented to the board a
petition signed by lake residents against the changing of intersection of
Boulder Beach Road and State Highway 232.
A meeting will be set up with the State
to address this issue. Paving of
Boulder Beach Road was scheduled for this year and will be tabled until the issue
is resolved.
Fire Report
Brent reported on the fire at the home
of Ruth Wilson. Response time was 7
minutes. Assisting were Ryegate, Tri-Village, Marshfield, Newbury, Wells River,
Woodsville, Barnet, and Peacham.
House is reported to be total loss.
Road
Commissioner
Brent reported on work completed, and
work still in progress. Discussed
checking on funding for park and ride lot.
Fast Squad
Selectboard states Town of Groton not
in a position financially to act on a vehicle for the FAST Squad at this present
time. Jonathan stated that town needs
to address issue soon as the FAST Squad members are using their own personal
vehicles to respond to calls as the FAST Squad vehicle is unsafe to operate.
Building
Commission Report
Warren Tripp presented contracts from
the architect. Discussion followed on
contents. Dave and Leonard signed
contracts.

Zoning request
to change
Selectboard discussed Zoning Regulation
request for fee changes, but it was not understood how that fits with other
zoning changes proposed. We will ask someone from the Planning commission
and/or the Zoning officer to attend our next meeting.
Treasurer
Report
Roberta and Brent will meet to discuss grant
paperwork for dry hydrant.
Roberta reported a Tax Sale has been
set up for August 25th, 2007 at 10:30 AM in the town clerks office. One
Selectperson needs to be present.
It was agreed that a computer will be
purchased for the Listers. Also
networking between town offices will be set up.
Roberta presented a municipal tax rate
of .4207. Leonard made a motion to
accept and Dave seconded the motion.
Orders were signed in the amount of $
11,892.27.
Leonard made a motion to adjourn at 9:55PM
and Dave seconded.
